Carlson Craft and the Rich History of Wedding Invitations

Wedding invitations might be common now but prior to the 1400’s, people in England have to hire a town crier to announce a certain wedding that is about to take place. This is done because of illiteracy back in the Middle Ages; it was only the royal families that are educated and these nobles announce their wedding dates by sending invitations. On that era, calligraphers did the job of writing for them.By the 1600’s the wedding invitation has evolved into the printed version. Newspaper announcements were also numerous during this era. By mid-1600, metal plate engraving came about which gave more quality to the existing form of wedding invitation cards. By the following century, these invitations were already sent out in double envelopes.

After the Second World War, wedding stationeries became common and etiquette dictated that invitations be sent out with elegance. It is in this same manner that Carlson craft wedding invitations are now made. Just like the evolution of the invitations, Carlson craft has evolved from being a small printing business (inside a home) to being one of the most famous companies in the wedding industry.

It has been 50 years since William Carlson quit his job and founded Carlson Letter Service. Still, this company is not resting on its laurels. Today, Carlson Craft is synonymous to classy wedding invitations that practically everyone can afford!
